holiday makeup using drugstore.

heyy guys i loved the way this look came out. i wore it to work the other day and got a ton of compliments. the gold jus popped out at you ;) && its drugstore makeup soooo i was quite impressed. very pigmented shadows & suuuper affordable. the only downfall i noticed was the shadows being a little powdery but as long as you pat them on you shouldnt have a problem. && to intensify the gold color i jus wet my brush using fix+ from mac.

looove it!

i hope all of you have a wonderful holiday with your family && friends!

.......til the next blogpost :)

night out.

havent been clubbin in forever! i feel like i grew out of that stage years ago&& im barely 23. started super early though. gotta love me some fake id ;)

it was my girlfriends birthday and she wanted to club && birthday girl always gets what she wants. haha. we ended up at the palms casino @ moon. pretty awesome club minus the jam packed crowd. been there many times before & ive always been claustrophobic & ive always hated crowds. but anyway the club has amazing views of the strip....kinda old by now though for me. theres also an open ceiling sooo you can see the sky&&stars up above :) music was good. thank god no techno!

wore out my over the knee faux leather boots for the first time. got a lot of attention :P
had my usual drinks for the night soco shots via parking lot pimpin. lol. wow havent said that in FOREVER!

all in all had a good time. heres some pics of the night to share.

reminisce.

isnt it amazing how a single song can bring back numerous long forgotten memories??

whether its a memory u wish to forget or something you cherish to remember...music is the only thing for me that will dig deep back into your mind to find them.

its just nice sometimes to lay in bed in a dark room, the candles lit& with chill, soulful music playin.
i fein it & i live for it :)

this song does that for me in sooo many different ways. its bitter sweet in some cases, but i love it regardless.

sweet dreams.

procrastinate.

ive been a bit neglectful to both my youtube channel & my blog. all the obstacles life throws at you sometimes takes you by surprise. havent even started my xmas shopping yet. bein the suuuuper procrastinator i am! i dont want to shop too damn late though cuz i hate crowded messy stores! but pay day is tomorrow && i get off early sooo my expedition will start tomorrow i guess :)

all i asked for christmas was a clarisonic sooo i can get my skin into better shape! thats all though. i have everything i want & need. ofcourse i would want all the mac&forever21 in the world, but as of this moment im good :) im alive & im thankful. i just wanna spend the holidays with the people that matter the most.

i was also thinking of doin a 1/1/11 wedding at a small vegas chapel, but not sure if its a good idea or not. sort of a last minute idea that may go down && then have time to save up for the big shabang later in the year. idk though. lol. i jus think being engaged longer than a year is a bit redundant.

anywho ive been a bit all over the place with this blog post, but thats how scatter brained ive been lately in my life. gettin back into the grove of things though.....great things to come && im ready to live it up.

leave yall on a quiet note before i doze off in bed....music is the best relaxtion.
here's a bit of my music taste.

update&&a quick little "about me"

heyyy guys!! i haven't updated this blog in forever it feels like. i need to get back on it. haha.

i wanted to let everyone know that i did create a twitter account that you can follow me on if you'd like :)
i never got the hang of the whole twitter thing, but if you care to know what i do on a daily basis...feel free to come see! && also if you have any questions for me...whether it be makeup related or something totally off the subject i can answer them directly back to you pretty instantly.

heres the link:
http://www.twitter.com/shalina016

anyways i have been soooo busy with helping my mom move out of my old house and in to her new apartment. finally its all over and done with && shes settling in. thank god! one less stress in my life. ive taken care of my mom for sooo long it feels great to finally push her back into reality and get her independence back. shouldn't it be the other way around? hahaha jk.

why did i just mention all of that to you? i have no fffin clue :P but enough with all the sappy personal drama....thats not the "about me" fact that i wanted to mention to everyone.

its my obsession. i have an obsession with bulldogs! ever since i met my fiance with whom had 2 english bulldogs to start with. Three years later, we end up with a HUGE family of both english and french bulldogs. i have always been an animal lover all my life, but this took me to a whole other level.

We had a total of 6 dogs, but gave 1 to my fiances brother because it ended up being wayyy to difficult to keep up with both cost wise & time wise.

let me name them one by one for you &&& i will show you a couple pictures that i have of them :)
1. Peaches (the eldest English Bulldog)
2. Rocky (peaches baby boy)
3. Noodles (first female French Bulldog)
4. Chops (first male French Bulldog)
5. Daisy (baby girl of Noodles & Chops)
6. Snuggles (female English Bulldog we gave to his brother)

yesss i know its a lot! our initial plan was to start breeding them because i would loooove to stay home and raise baby bulldogs OMG! but realizing how costly it would be after the first litter by having to artificially inseminate and operate a c section at birth then ending up with only one puppy it was a little disheartening. i raised that puppy as soon as she came out the womb and got sooo attached i ended up keeping her. haha.

sorry for all the boring dog info, but i thought id share a personal part of my life. and show you how obsessed ive become with dogs. everyone thinks we are crazy! lol.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IT OUT EVERYONE!!!
I LOOOVE MY BULLDOGS! THEY ARE MY BABIES :)

RA Sushi. we went for happy hour because they have great deals & bomb ass food! lol.

it was sort of a spur of the moment thing soooo i had to get ready pretty quickly and my hair was a mess so i decided to do a quick messy side bun. i like to wear this a lot to work because i feel no need to get all done up for work, but thats just me. i loved the way it turned out and got a few compliments. so it was success! also got a few accessories from forever 21, but nothing too exciting :P

ta ta for now!

heres some pictures && a tutorial for the hair style i did.....

greatest boxer of all time MANNY PACQUIAO!

heyyy everyone....sooo this whole pass week actually months i've been anticipating the fight between manny pacquiao and antonio margarito.!

yes i am a girl & yes i still looooove boxing! i always have since i was young. my dad used to be an amateur/up in coming boxer and he would always make me hit his mitts and teach me certain punches. i also watched the famous mike tyson fight when holyfield bit off a chunk of his ear with my dad and his friends. what makes it even crazier....my fiance also used to be a boxer until medical problems got in the way. he is always on boxing news websites day in and day out. he is always telling me about different boxers, certain fights coming up, and he too teaches me certain combinations of punches and nags me to punch his bare hands....sometimes its annoying! long story short....i guess it is true that when in search for the one or your life partner you always end up with someone who has similar characteristics as your father. and in my case that is completely true.

moving along...away from my life story. haha. me and my fiance both have been waiting for this fight to come since that contract was signed. we watched every episode of the 24/7 that they give on HBO and honestly we were both scared that manny might have a hard time beating the beast of margarito. but we never once thought he was gonna lose this fight. manny is just a different specie of fighter. they don't come around very often. and the way he continued to beat bigger and stronger guys just made him different from everyone else.

we ordered the fight on ppv that night and had a bunch of our close friends come an enjoy it with us! we lit up our grill and bbq'd some steak, burger && hotdogs. corona&lime all night...we actually should've bought tecate ops! haha.

all in all it definitely was a successful night. we all had a blast watching the greatest boxer of all time put leather on margarito's face. it was painful to watch cuz i felt bad for the guy. but karma is a b**ch! fighting with illegal material in your wraps & poking fun of someones disease is not cool. and no it may not have been intentional in that way, but you still acted upon it and unfortunately it was filmed and shown to the world.

CONGRATS to MANNY PACQUIAO!
an icon to all us filipino people!
BEST POUND FOR POUND BOXER OF ALL TIME!
now bring on scared ass mayweather!

mini haul: target, ross, & shoedazzle

whyy is that when your bored or stressed...shopping makes its sooo much better? i hate it. its hurting my pocket everytime i feel this way. haha. i finished my errands for the day && hung out with my momma and i felt like i didn't accomplish enough and that i didn't wanna just call it a night and go home. so where do i decide to stop? my fave place in the world....TARGET! that store takes all my money! lol. got a couple beauty related items there and next door to target is ross. another one of those guilty pleasure stores! they always have something for a good price there that i can never seem to pass up. the whole night i end up spending more money than i intended to. && lastly i received some boots i ordered on shoedazzle the other day too!!!

i love shoedazzle now that i know how it operates. haha.

*fyi shoedazzle basically is a monthly membership/service that will charge whatever credit card you put on file $39.99 a month and in return you get to pick one pair of shoes that either "kim kardashian" orrrr "stylist" picks for you based on your style that is determined from your profile you create in the beginning. with that said, if you are broke that month and DO NOT want to purchase a shoe that month you have the option to skip the month by logging onto the site from the 1st to the 5th of the month and clicking the SKIP BUTTON! if you miss that chance they will automatically charge you the monthly fee...and pretty much your screwed. so although i recommend this site to all of you....keep an eye on that just in case a new pair of shoes isn't in the budget ;)

here's my invite link if your interested:

halloween is here!!!

soooo im really excited for halloween this year.....my coworkers birthday is actually on halloween eve. lol. we are all planning to get dressed and go down to the strip (the las vegas strip) to get some drinks&&&go dancing. it should be a lot of fun. i really wanted to do a couples costume this year and having matching costumes with my fiance soooo it was either jasmine&aladdin, beauty&the beast, pocahontas&john smith, or ryu&chun li from street fighter. in the end.....they all failed. mainly because i couldn't find a costume for my man to wear. they rarely had any disney male costumes. and then they didn't have a cute chun li outfit for me! haha. long story short i ended up doing pocahontas/native american/indian girl and my fiance is going to be a cowboy aka cowboy&indians? idk my friends that it was a cool idea i guess. anyways funny story...we go out last night and i'm in my costume and he last minute decides to join the other guys in our group in dressing up as the jabawockees! lol. he got the white mask & gloves and dressed in all black with some adidas shoes on. i still have his cowboy costume and he is going to wear it on saturday night! haha.

here's a couple pictures i would like to share:

my take on dry shampoo&&2nd day hair.

you know those days you get lazy and don't want to wash your hair just to restyle it again? or how bout those days you are short on time? well my savior product for those hair days is DRY SHAMPOO! i know that disguising your oils at the roots of your hair seems kind of disgusting, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

i will NEVER use dry shampoo more than one day at a time. its a product to use specifically between washes when absolutely necessary. unless your one of the lucky ones that don't have an oily scalp....skip this post all together. haha.

so ladies please use sparingly...otherwise get your butt in that shower and wash those dirty locks :P

products i like to use:

  • tresemme fresh start dry shampoo for straight hair (they do have a foam type for curly hair)
  • tresemme fresh start refreshing mist
  • john frieda 100% glossing mist

here's a tutorial on how i like to use these products:

jackass 3d.

just seen jackass 3d this past weekend and honestly it wasn't as crazy as i expected. although 99.9% of things they did i would never think of doing it wasn't anything extra crazy or over the top....minus the porta potty bungy thing. lol. disgusting! it seemed to me like it was a repeat of what they've done in the past. either i was the one of the few that wasn't impressed or i'm just over the entire jackass thing. the stupidity is just old and i'm more interested in jersey shore and bad girls club if anything! haha. trash reality tv is just so much more entertaining. and was it really necessary to have it in 3d? there was hardly any part of the movie that needed to be 3d, if any. they just wanted to steal the extra $5 a ticket to make it seem as if it was gonna be that much better in three dimension. well i'll admit that i fell for there genius marketing strategy, but if you haven't seen it yet and are planning to....don't waste the extra money for the cool glasses. it really isn't worth it. but heyyy if you want to give in to the new 3d trend by all means....go for it! don't say i didn't warn you. hahahaha.

sorry guys just thought id vent out my opinions on this million dollar movie. i don't wanna ruin any fun for anyone but if i can save you a buck....your welcome :P

thanks for stopping by! until next time....see ya later!

teenage dream.

i am obsessed with the new cd from katy perry....teenage dream! its amazing. not to mention she is goregous and always has on great makeup. its wierd cuz ive noticed that when i love a cd i have it on repeat or on a shuffled playlist on my computer&&&ipod for months until i get absolutely annoyed and move on to the next. honestly, i wasn't really a fan of her music before this album and i think california gurls is what sparked my interest. her style and sound is just different.

#11 hummingbird heartbeat on repeat!

Top 10 Eyeshadows (High End)

Even though I don't wear eyeshadow on a daily basis I still have my own favorites that if I do decide to put some on majority of the time it will be one of these colors I mention. They are all either MAC or higher end brands, but I will be posting my favorite drugstore eye shadows following this post.

All the colors are very neutral becuz I'm a neutral type of girl. So whether you are just starting out with makeup or if your in the market for new colors to try....each color is very versatile and multi-purpose so you can get the most use of your money. Hope this helps! Enjoy!
